Yes it has been a while since our last post but we are back online :)
This term our main focus is looking at Puanga and all the things that surround this season of celebration. Check out some of the side tabs to find out more about Matariki.
TRM are planning their 2nd visit to the museum for next Thursday, to see Manu Aute and Tapa.
We will get to see the Museum’s manu aute (Māori kite) and
other tapa from the Museum collection; find out how this amazing hand-made barkcloth, traditional to Pacific cultures,
is made and used; see and touch examples of tapa, and use traditional tapa
rubbing boards,
then make a tapa inspired manu aute to keep!
